This initiative is designed to help 9th-grade students in Sumter County explore pathways to higher education, gain valuable mentorship, and access resources that prepare them for life after graduation.
Whether you're dreaming of college, technical school, or a career in the trades, this program offers guidance, support, and tools to help you succeed.
Who Can Participate?
This opportunity is open to current 9th-grade students enrolled in public high schools in Sumter County who meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrate financial need (based on USDA or HUD guidelines)
- Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher with no grades below a C
- Have no major attendance or behavioral issues
- Possess a valid Social Security number
- Show a strong desire to succeed, supported by a Student Statement and Parent Statement essay

Activities and mentoring sessions take place at your school and through local community events organized by the Sumter County School District and its partners.
